CRE Teacher arrested in Kiambu for selling fake 2023 National Exams

Nicholas Ngumbau Kalewa a Christian Religion Education (CRE) teacher at St. Lilian Academy, Kiambu county has been arrested for allegation selling fake papers of the forthcoming primary and secondary national exams.

‘Mr Examiner’ Nicholas Ngumbau Kalewa a teacher at St. Lilian Academy in Gikambura village is alleged to have opened over 10 watsapp and telegram account where he was hawking,the paper said. According to the (DCI) Director of Criminal Investigation, Nicholas Ngumbau was selling each exam paper at Ksh 1,500 or Ksh 2,000 if it comes complete with it’s marking scheme.

” In the typical Conman’s way of communicating he cautioned over 900 parents and students in the group not to introduce other matters, as he says busy attending to those who are willing to buy the fake papers,” Statement from the DCI said.  ” Avoid many stories in my inbox I have many Clients,’ said Nicholas Ngumbau Kalewa in one of his curt responses that is seen by the detectives.”

The investigative agency added that Nicholas Ngumbau Kalewa claimed to be the only person in possession of legitimate papers, hence cautioned else supporting to do so, terming them scammers. The suspect was known after the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) detectives reportedly infiltrated his groups posing as student seeking seeking to purchase the examination.

“A manhunt for the suspect immediately followed leading to his arrest in Gikambura village, Kiambu county where several sim cards believed to be used in the fraud were also found on his possession,” the state agency stated.  “The ministry of Education,the Kenya National Examination council KNEC and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation have put up an elaborate mechanism which is aimed at upholding the integrity of administering the forthcoming KIPSEA and KCSE examination to avoid cases of examination cheating.
