Manchester United Player, Mason Greenwood has been arrested over rape and physical violence allegations by ex-girlfriend.
The Greater Manchester Police said they were made aware through social media images and videos posted by a lady reporting a case of physical violence.
“We can confirm a man in his 20s has since been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault”, the Greater Manchester Police added.
In a statement by the club, Mason will not be returning to training or matches until further notice.
“We don’t condone violence of any kind” part of the statement read
Greenwood has not responded to the allegations by the ex-girlfriend, sparking more uncertainty into his future.
The 20-year-old, made his United debut in March 2019, signed a four-year deal in February 2021 after rising through the ranks of the academy.
