President William Ruto mourns Kuwaiti leader Sheikh Nawaf

President William Ruto has mourned the death of Kuwaiti leader Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AL-Sabah’s death.

Kuwait’s leader Sheikh Emir Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah has died at the age of 86, Kuwaiti state TV announced.

The sheikh had led the oil-rich nation for the last three years after taking over from his half brother, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah.

“With great sadness and sorrow, we mourn… the death of Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah” a statement aired on state TV said.Regular programming on the channel was Saturday cut following the announcement of the Death of the Kuwaiti leader.

The President condores him saying he has left a legacy of steady leadership.“It is with a deep sense of sorrow that I have learnt of the untimely death of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AL-Sabah, the Emir of the State of Kuwait,” the President said.

“The late Emir leaves a legacy of steady leadership and consensus building and will be fondly remembered for his modesty and sense of duty. On behalf of the Government and people of Kenya, I extend sincere condolences to the people of Kuwait.”

The President said Kuwait is assured of Kenya’s great sympathies and goodwill.
