Senators demand Moses Kuria’s ouster saying he is an embarassment

Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has been on the limelight for a while now in social media platforms especially X.

From the day he posted a picture of him with leaders from opposition side to yesterday when he commented on Kawira Mwangaza’s Impeachment trial that was tabled by the Members of County Assembly in Meru County over allegations of misconduct and Nepotism over other five allegations.

The pictures saw inclusion of Kalonzo Musyoka on a post dated 3rd November and in another one dated 6th November, he was with one Maina Njenga who he met at a local media station.

Netizens once again predicted that Moses Kuria was sending a message to his boss, President William Ruto with political analysts saying that his move directed him to a fall out.

In his X account, @HonMoses_Kuria, he sent a cryptic post that got netizens on Twitter talking about.

“I have studied carefully the issues presented against Governor Kawira. The most serious offence is that she does what Kukuyus call Kuangalia watu manyiira. That offence can take you to hell but not to jail. Certainly not a ground for Impeachment,” read the X post.

He further went on and mentioned 13 senators who were part of the senate sitting on Mwangaza’s impeachment saying that they were being misled.

“Senators: Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho), Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu), Sigei (Bomet), Sen. Mundigi (Embu), Samson Cherargei (Nandi), Seki (Kajiado), Fatuma Dullo (Isiolo), Abdul Haji (Garissa), Kamau Murango (Kirinyaga), Wahome Wamatinga (Nyeri), Kathuri Murungi (Meru), Wambua (Kitui), Kajwan’g (Homabay) STOP IT. You can see from evidence you are being misled,” read the next post.

Senators however did not like the two posts urging that it casts very serious doubt on the appointing authority.

“Moses Kuria is a national shame. Just how much embezzlement does the President have to endure? Mr. speaker even after your communication, the CS who should be asleep took to X for another comment, action must be taken,” said Nairobi County senator, Edwin Sina

“It casts very serious doubt on the appointing authority. First, he came for the media, and now he has come for the Senate, do something… that is who Moses Kuria is,” the senator added.

The senators on Wednesday morning have again presented their dissatisfaction with the Cabinet Secretary’s sentiments. They paused the impeachment hearing demanding that he may be removed from office following for interfering with the impeachment hearing.

Senator Cheruiyot said that he was an embarassment to the government and the people of Kenya.

“Speaker, I agree with members of this house who have brought a motion of censure before to discuss the conduct of this particular minister because every given opportunity has done nothing but embarrass the appointing authority. In fact, it is my submission, that the earlier CS Moses Kuria is let off his duties, the better for this administration because in every single day, in every action that he undertakes, he continues to embarrass the President and the People,” he said.

Senator Otieno Kajwang and Edwin Sifuna backed up the rest of the senators demanding that it’s high time the president rests from embarrassment of the Cabinet secretary.
