2024 KCPE placement results released

2023 KCPE candidates can now check the secondary schools they are set to join in January 2024.

The Minister of Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, while presiding over the 2024 Form One placement at Lenana School, said the placements were mostly based on the candidates’ choices.

“Some students were placed in schools of equivalent standing outside their counties. This includes those from counties with inadequate capacity,” CS said.

The Carbinet Secretary said the government is committed to a full transition. He also noted that fees for day and boarding schools will remain unchanged.

“Government upholds its commitment to providing free day secondary education which includes allocation for tuition and operation expenses. The fees charged in secondary schools will remain unchanged in 2024. Schools will continue to receive funds based on accurate enrolment data,” he added.42,927 have been placed in national schools with 22,051 being boys and girls are 20,876.

Those placed in Extra-County schools are 276,746 as 141,590 are boys and 133,156 are girls.

288,201 have been placed in county schools with 129,332 of them being boys and girls are 158,869.

In Sub-county schools, 423,171 boys have been placed in different institutions and 369,059 are girls bringing the total to 792,230.

Likewise, 2,225 students with special needs have been placed relevant institutions as 1,214 are boys and 1,011 are girls.

“The selection process was strictly guided by the principles of merit, affirmative action and availability of space,” said Machogu while adding that overage students have been forwarded to the Directorate of Adults and Continuing Education.

The Education CS further noted that all students who scored 400 and above were placed in either national or extra-county schools of their choice.

Candidates can check their placement results through the Ministry of Education website.

On the Ministry’s website, they will search Form One placements. This will direct them to the Form One selection page, where they can access the placement results.

The results can also be accessed directly through the Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS).Candidates can download forms containing Form One joining instructions from http://kemis.education.go.ke/
