Thika Road: Another woman found dead in an Airbnb

Thika Road passers by and residents were met by yet another tragedy of a 24-year-old woman found murdered in an Airbnb at TRM Drive along Thika Road in Nairobi.

Preliminary reports reaching indicate that the woman was stabbed and chopped to death at the Airbnb.

According to Nation Media Group (NMG) journalist, Leon Lidigu, the killer is alleged to have stuffed the body parts in a paper bag.

“Very shocking and sad morning along TRM Drive, Thika Road. A woman has been stabbed & chopped to death in an Airbnb. The killer then stuffed body parts in a paper bag,” stated Lidigu on X.

Residents told the media that a man who had booked a room at the Airbnb with the woman returned the key early on Sunday morning before disappearing.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers from Kasarani arrived at the crime scene and were trying to establish what exactly happened.

The body was picked up by police officers and taken to the mortuary for autopsy.

The circumstances leading to the murder of the woman nor her identity as well as that of the suspects were yet to be established.

In related news, a 25-year-old woman was on Sunday morning found dead in her rented one-bedroom house where she was believed to be living with her lover.

Residents of the Kwa Ndomo area in Magarini, Kilifi County were shocked to find the lifeless body of the middle-aged woman known by the name Malkia at around 6 in the morning.

Malkia, a seller of local brew Mnazi, has been living with her lover since October last year.

According to Mama Rebecca who is the landlady of the house, the suspect, who is a lorry driver, was the one who rented the house and was said to have started living with the deceased late last year.

The area assistant chief confirmed the incident and notified the police. According to reports, Malkia was a mother of three and was well-known in the area.

Residents called upon couples to solve their differences amicably to avoid loss of life.

These murders come a week after popular Instagram personality and businesswoman Starlet Wahu was found murdered in an Airbnb apartment in South B, Nairobi.

John Matara, the main suspect in the murder, had revealed to detectives that he did not kill Wahu as alleged and that he only stabbed her in the thigh and not the chest or head as was reported. Her body was found at the Airbnb soaked in blood and had multiple bruises and stab wounds all around the thighs.

According to previously released postmortem results, Wahu died as a result of haemorrhage, which is the loss of blood from a damaged blood vessel.

The murder had prompted a series of women to come out and confess how Matara sexually assaulted and robbed his victims of their money from their mobile and bank accounts.
